Firefighters knocked out a late-night fire at Oregon’s Timberline Lodge before the blaze caused significant damage.
The historic hotel, 60 miles east of Portland, was featured in director Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 film “The Shining.”
Via social media Timberline said that Thursday night’s fire was confined to the roof and attic of the lodge.
No word yet on the cause of the blaze, but officials say the fire may have been caused by embers from a large stone fireplace.
Guests were other other accommodations and the lodge has been closed until further notice.
The Mount Hood ski area was also closed Friday.
No injuries have been reported.
