An early Tuesday morning shooting in the well off Bridle Path neighbourhood sent a man to hospital with what was initially described as serious condition.

The man, working security outside of the front gates of the mansion owned by superstar rapper Drake, is now said to be in life-threatening condition.

Understanding the large amount of public interest, Toronto Police Inspector Paul Krawcyzk says ”I cannot confirm if Drake was home at the time the incident occurred,” but adds investigators are in contact with his team and they are co-operating.

The officer adds they have some security video footage but no descriptions of the suspect or suspects or the getaway vehicle.

Inspector Krawcyzk also says it’s too early for a motive but this comes amid a public dispute between Drake and American rapper Kendrick Lamar.
