There’s a missing piece of history from a member of the British rock band The Kinks.
Guitarist and singer Dave Davies says he’s confident he’ll be able to get back his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame trophy after it turned up on eBay for more than $12,000.
“It went missing about 20 years ago at about the same time I had a debilitating stroke when I was in England,” said Davies.
After his stroke, Davies says he’s been on the move and denies rumours that the trophy was in a storage unit that was sold because he didn’t pay the fees.
The seller, Colony Records, says it acquired the trophy from another auction house after the award had changed hands a few times.
Davies says he was never contacted before the sale.
