Health Canada has recalled nine lots of Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation, due to the possibility of fungal contamination

Consumers are advised to consult their health-care providers before discontinuing the use of the products, as well as for any health concerns related to the products.

In an online update labelled “urgent,” the Suntegrity Skincare company said that on May 24 they had voluntarily recalled several lots of the product based on its “discovery of product separation causing an unusual odour and a higher than acceptable microbiological mould count” for one of the lots.

The company noted that they had also recalled the other eight lots “out of an abundance of caution…even though all original and recent test results received back are clear.”

For anyone who may have already used the product, the company says that if it did not have an unusual odour then it is not likely to have had an issue at the time of use.

Suntegrity Skincare asked that consumers check their product’s lot number on the back of the tube, in the top crimp line where the tube is sealed, and to stop using it if there’s a match with any of the following recalled lots: 115BU, 107IV, 107NU, 109NU, 117BU, 113SA, 114SA, 106BR and 101MO.

If the product was purchased from their website or Amazon, people can email Suntegrity with their order number, product lot number and name to receive a refund, store credit or an exchange.

People who bought their sunscreen from a retailer can either contact the company directly to exchange it for a 5-in-1 Tinted Sunscreen and a free gift, or contact their retailer for a possible credit memo or refund.
