An eastern Ontario doctor accused of killing four seniors has been acquitted on all charges, including first degree.

The trial was set to begin Tuesday in Ottawa but the Crown claims the pre-trial judge decided to make certain evidence inadmissible.

The Crown asked for directed verdicts of acquittal as Dr. Brian Nadler’s trial was set to begin in Ottawa claiming the pre-trial judge decided to make certain evidence inadmissible.

Lawyer Brian Greenspan is the lawyer for Doctor Brian Nadler.

“Three years under the cloud of four charged of first degree murder obviously has impacted enormously on one’s life, one’s prospect in terms of their future and the cloud of the innuendo of suspicion is something that’s difficult to overcome,” said Greenspan outside the courthouse as the five day trial was set to begin.

Greenspan says Nadler maintains his innocence, and that the four patients died from COVID-19.

Nadler was initially charged in 2021 with first-degree murder in the death of 89-year-old Albert Poidinger and Police laid three additional charges of first-degree murder against him in the deaths of 80-year-old Claire Briere, 79-year-old Lorraine Lalande and 93-year-old Judith Lungulescu.
