Long lineups may be the order of the day, as the clock ticks down on what could be the first strike by liquor store workers in Ontario history.
Talks continue as the midnight strike deadline approaches. Should workers walk off the job, liquor stores would be closed, as of tomorrow, for two weeks.
Bars and restaurants. along with licensed grocery stores and the Beer Store, will continue to receive wholesale orders.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union, which represents over nine-thousand LCBO workers, voted overwhemingly for strike action last month.
The main issue in the dispute is job security, with the Ford government planning to expand beer and wines sales to convenience stores this fall.
