British Prime Minister Keir Starmer says he will lead a “government of service” on a mission of national renewal.

Starmer and his Labour Party swept into power in a landslide victory, after more than a decade in opposition, and less than five years after suffering its worst defeat in almost a century.

After a few hours of sleep following a night of celebration, the 61-year stepped through the front door of 10 Downing street for the first time as Prime Minister.

Starmer is the first Labour Party leader to win a U-K election since Tony Blair in 1997.
