Stats Can says last month’s unemployment rate climbed to its highest level in more than two years. The rate came in at 6.4 percent in June, up from 6.2 percent in May.
The June result is the highest reading for unemployment since January 2022, when it hit 6.5 percent. The economy lost 14-hundred jobs last month.
Stateside, even though 206-thousand jobs were added to the American economy, the unemployment rate ticked up from 4-percent to 4.1 percent, it’s highest rate since November 2021.
