He was one of the first great Elizabethan playwrights after Shakespeare, and now the complete theatrical works of Christopher Marlowe have been filmed in what is being described as a “remarkable world first”

 

The eight films feature some of the UK’s top performers.

The movies will premiere over a week long celebration next month at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Kent, where the playwright was born.

Marlowe died in 1593 at the age of 29
