Chris Mazza appears ready to testify. The lawyer for the ousted CEO of the scandal plagued ORNGE air ambulance service says Mazza is very interested in setting the record straight. Mazza has yet to appear before the legislative committee probing the scandal at ORNGE because psychiatrists declared him medically unfit to testify. New Democrat France Gelinas says she’s giving him the benefit of the doubt until she hears the whole story, “I don’t believe that he set out to rip people off. He didn’t start this with the intention of ending up with the fiasco that we have now. I’m interested in hearing his story as to what were the turning points.” If a doctor gives him the go ahead next week , Chris Mazza is expected to testify on July 18th. Many witnesses have blamed Mazza for the scandal at ORNGE, saying he was behind many of the questionable business deals. Ontario’s air ambulance service is currently under a criminal probe for financial irregularities.
