Leaders of the English public school teachers unions are planning to speak at 11:00 this morning, four days before MPPs go back to Queens Park to debate a bill which would impose a 2 year contract on teachers. Presidents of both the ETFO and the OSSTF have said they are willing to give up wage increases, but they are not in favour of cutting teachers sick days from 20 to 10 a year. PC leader Tim Hudak is indicating his members will vote with the Minority Liberals to pass cost cutting legislation ahead of the September 1st deadline. Hudak says, “if you get half a loaf, take it, and then press for more”.
