We’re going to get the latest snapshot on the Canadian economy today.
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty will deliver his fall economic update to the Chamber of Commerce in Fredericton, New Brunswick at Noon.
Many expect this mid-term report card will show a modest deterioration in the government’s finances.
Last month, Flaherty said revenues had been lower than expected due to an average five per cent drop in the global price of resources that Canada exports to the world. He also hinted that the government hasn’t been hitting its deficit-reduction targets.
A senior government source tells the Canadian Press there are no big surprises in this update, such as new tax or spending measures.
