We may soon see more locally produced  food in grocery stores and restaurants.

The Wynne government  is renewing its push for  the  Local Food Act  after previous legislation died when the  legislature was prorogued.

If passed, it would help make more local food available in markets, schools, grocery stores and restaurants.

The agrifood sector in Ontario is worth more than 34-billion dollars a year to the provincial economy and employs more than 700-thousand people.

Premier Wynne is also the Minister of Agriculture and Food.
