Doctors treating Sir Elton John have advised him to cancel his concerts in advance of surgery for appendicitis.

For now, he’s taking antibiotics to treat an abscess  surrounding his inflamed appendix.

The 66-year-old was due to play an outdoor concert in London’s Hyde Park Friday on a bill with  Elvis Costello and Ray Davies.
