The Supreme Court of Canada is being asked to fast-track a physician-assisted suicide appeal.
The B.C. Civil Liberties Association wants the court give its opinion on the constitutionality of the ban on assisted suicide.
The request comes on the heels of a B.C. Supreme Court decision that overturned the law which was then reinstated by the B.C. Court of Appeal.
MS patient Elayne Shapray, has filed an affidavit in the case in support of the association’s application to have the case heard quickly.
