A bold move to help frightened immigrants to our city.
Council has approved implementation for Toronto’s “Access Without Fear” policy.
The move ensures that municipal services are available to residents who don’t have full immigration status – or all of their documents.
It’s a way to help people in our city who need it most.
The vote follows a landmark decision last February, when council passed Canada’s first “Sanctuary City” policy.
There are an estimated 200,000 undocumented people across the country.
Many of them live in Toronto and rely on city services daily.
