Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Hass has been honoured with a $100,000 lifetime achievement award.
The former U.S. poet laureate, has been given The Wallace Stevens award for “outstanding and proven mastery.”
The prize comes from the Academy of American Poets – which also awarded a $25,000 fellowship to Tracy K. Smith – the 2012 Pulitzer winner for “Life On Mars.”
The Academy is a non-profit organization – founded in 1934.
