The province of Ontario is giving the City of Burlington as much as $3 million to help with the clean up from last August’s rain storm. Burlington was pounded with 191 millimetres of rain in a single day. About 3,500 homes were flooded and many of the home owners did not have enough insurance or any insurance at all. The community has raised more than $800,000 and hopes to raise another $200,000 by the end of the week. The money raised will be be matched by the province on a 2-to-1 basis.
