A visionary British arts leader is headed for Toronto – to become CEO of the Luminato festival.
Anthony Sargent has landed the job – after an extensive global search.
Sargent is the former founding general director of England’s Sage Gateshead – an ambitious arts centre for music performance and education in England – recognized internationally for its world-class performance and its inclusiveness, accessibility, and social engagement.
Another highlighted past experience is Sargents’s 16 years with the BBC in a range of roles in Arts and Current Affairs.
Until an official start date for Sargent has been set, Lucille Joseph continues to serve as Interim CEO – as Luminato approaches its 10th anniversary.
The multi-arts festival runs this year from June 19th to 28th.
