Emma Donoghue, David Bergen and Madeleine Thien are among the 12 authors named to the long list – for the Scotiabank Giller Prize.
Bergen is up for his novel Stranger – while Thien gets the nod for Do Not Say We Have Nothing – and Donoghue is in the running for The Wonder.
Bergen took the Giller in 2005 for The Time in Between.
The long list of 12 titles was chosen from 161 books submitted by 69 publishers.
The award will be handed out November 7th.
