The Senate ethics committee is to meet for a second time behind closed doors Wednesday to discuss the report from the upper chamber’s ethic commissioner, who found the Toronto-area PC senator violated the code of ethics.
Don Meredith has been invited to attend the committee’s meeting a week later, April 4, for a hearing.
His lawyer says it’s not clear if he’ll do so in person or via video.
Meredith’s currently on sick leave.
The ethics officer’s report followed a two-year investigation into his relationship with a young woman he first met when she was only 16.
He denies many of the allegations she’s made but admits they were intimate on at least one occasion when she was over 18.
