One of Toronto’s best known live performance spaces is expected to be back open and operating later this month, with a new name.
According to volunteer Grit Laskin, Hugh’s Room “Live” will reopen April 22nd and be run by a group of community volunteers. Laskin says they’re hoping the uniqueness of Hugh’s Room will win the day. He says at the moment the Dundas St. West, venue is the only listening room focused on folk-roots music which also serves dinner.
The first act at the new Hugh’s Room Live is long-time favourite Connie Kaldor.
A Gala Opening Concert/Fundraiser is set for the following Saturday…April 29th.
