It’s only fitting that Gordon Lightfoot would be the one turning out the lights before Massey Hall goes dark for two-years of renovations.
The 79-year-old Juno winner and Grammy nominee’s performed at Toronto’s storied concert venue more than 160 times – the most by any individual artists.
In a statement, Lightfoot calls Massey Hall ”hallowed grounds” which feel like ”home”.
The 123-year-old venue is set to undergo a seven-year, multi-phase facelift that’ll fully restore its exterior and interior and also include a new addition.
The Canadian music icon will perform June 29 and June 30 next year.
