BOND DIRECTOR LEWIS DIES AT 97

The British film director whose dozens of movies included “You Only Live Twice”, “The Spy Who Loved Me” and “Moonraker” has died.
Lewis Gilbert also directed “Educating Rita” and the swinging London classic “Alfie.”
Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson said Gilbert was “a true gentleman” whose Bond films “are considered classics within the series.”
His last film was “Before You Go” in 2002.  He received the British Film Institute’s highest honour in 2001.
Lewis Gilbert was 97.
