Yet another shooting has left one male dead, another in serious condition.
It happened in the O’Connor Drive-Victoria Park Avenue neighbourhood Friday afternoon, several hours after police announced arrests have been made in relation to three of the recent shootings.

Chief Mark Saunders wants to assure your safety, promising they’ll be making more arrests.
But at the same time …
”I know that people are concerned and I completely understand that.  I do want to underline that this recent gun activity, these shootings that have happened over the past ten days .. by and large have street gang connotations to them or are street gang related,” added Saunders.
The chief points out currently there are more than 320 people facing firearms-related charges, who are out on bail and many are gang members.
While Mayor John Tory continues to believe stricter gun control is necessary, ”it is also high time we saw some further co-operation from within the Justice system”.
In a statement, Tory says we should make whatever changes to the law that are needed to give judges the tools they need to address the program and ”they in turn must focus a keener eye on community safety.”
The mayor goes on to say he joins the police chief in urging the courts to understand the impact gun offences are having on the community.
”Repeat gun crime offenders should be dealt with placing community safety first.  There should be no bail on a repeat charge,” said Tory.
”There should be no leniency on sentencing or parole for repeat offenders convicted of gun crimes.”
