The first death related to the coronavirus COVID-19 is an elderly male resident at North Vancouver’s Lynn Valley Care Centre.
In addition, there are five more confirmed cases in B.C., which now has 32 confirmed cases; two fewer than in Ontario.
This province’s two new cases are in Toronto; a man in his 80s and woman in her 70s who had recently returned from Iran.
After telling Canadians to think twice about taking a cruise, the country’s top public health doctor now recommends not going on one, saying the virus can spread quickly among passengers.
Dr. Theresa Tam says the general threat to Canadians remains low but cautions that could change quickly.
