Another public assault on the reputation of opera legend Placido Domingo.
The Los Angeles Opera, which Domingo helped found, says its investigators received 10 accusations that the tenor had engaged in “inappropriate conduct” with women between 1986 and 2019 and has deemed those allegations to be credible.
The release of the findings comes at a crucial moment in Domingo’s career.
American arts organizations swiftly canceled his performances after the allegations became public, but European institutions have largely stood by him, saying they would await investigations in Los Angeles and elsewhere.
The 79-year old Spaniard has denied all the misconduct allegations and maintains that all his interactions were consensual.
