Tory says he want so make sure the municipal government is doing everything possible, in full cooperation with the provincial and federal governments, to minimize the impact of COVID 19 and see an economic recovery take place as soon as possible.

The city is extending a grace period for tax and other municipal payments for 30 days as of today.  It will also protect city employees from layoffs this month due to the cancellation of city programs

The mayor plans to establish a substantial contingency fund to support businesses and affected groups, based on the forthcoming consultations and expand the City’s small business advisory services to help businesses.

The first set of meetings of the Mayor’s task begin today.
