A HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR’S DARING ESCAPE FROM KYIV AMID THE WAR
Jane Brown is joined by Katia Savchuk, a freelance journalist whose 94-year-old grandmother, a holocaust survivor, was trapped in her Kyiv apartment along with her father who has a disability and can’t drive. We ask Katia about what her family went through after Russia brutally invaded the country and how they managed to get assistance to flee home and make their way across the border to safety.
WHAT IS PUTIN’S END GAME?
Jane Brown is now joined by Dr. Andriy Zayarnyuk, Professor of History at the University of Winnipeg who teaches about the Soviet Union, Ukraine and nationalism.
Dr. Zayarnyuk weighs in on the growing humanitarian crisis that has taken place as a result of Russia’s unprovoked war against Ukraine with over 1.5 million refugees–mostly women and kids–being forced to flee and a majority of them making their way to the Polish border.
