TRUDEAU’S DENTAL, RENTAL AND GST PLAN UNVEILED

Libby Znaimer is now joined by Franco Terrazzano, Federal Director, Canadian Taxpayers Federation, and Lindsay Broadhead, Senior Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs at the Toronto Region Board of Trade.

This week, Ottawa unveiled its affordability plan that will cost taxpayers $4.5 billion. One part of that plan pertains to a national dental care program for kids under the age of 12 whose families make less than $90,000 a year. Ottawa would provide $650 per child per year depending on their family’s income. Also included in the plan is a top up to the $500 one-time rental support  program entitled “Canada Housing Benefit”. This will be for renters with an adjusted net income of $35,000 for families and $20,000 for individuals. Also, the government will be doubling the GST credit. Our guests react to the latest news.
