Two people are under arrest in Surry B.C.,charged with terrorism-related offenses in a plot reminiscent of the Boston Marathon bombings but targeting the BC Legislature. The RCMP confirm they have made two arrests in what they are describing as a domestic terror threat. 30 year old Amanda Korody and 39 year old John Nuttall are accused of knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity and possession of an explosive substance. Police say the suspects were inspired by al-Qaida ideology and were planning to blow up the B-C legislature on Canada Day using pressure cooker bombs. Officials say there were no international links to the alleged plot. The Mounties say the investigation was launched in February of 2013 and while they think the threat was real, at no time was the safety of the public at risk.
