A big boost  for Canada’s largest theatre award.

The Siminovitch Prize in Theatre is entering into new partnerships with the University of Toronto and the RBC Foundation.

Over a three year cycle – the prize  recognizes excellence in professional direction, playwriting and design for  an artist who is deemed to be in mid-career.

This year’s $100,000 award will go to a  director – and $25,000 of the prize money goes to a theatre protégé of the director’s choice. 

Nominations are now being accepted for this year’s prize – to be awarded at the U of T’s Hart House theatre in October.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 16th at 5:00 p.m.
