After weeks of hype and days of leaks, readers have the chance to judge Prince Harry’s stories for themselves.
Spare went on sale around the world first thing Tuesday morning.
In Britain, a few stores opened at midnight to sell copies of Spare to diehard royal devotees and the merely curious.
“I’m excited to hear about Prince Harry’s life from Prince Harry,” said one woman about to buy a copy.
In the ghostwritten memoir, Harry recounts his disputes with brother Prince William, lacerates Britain’s tabloid press and accuses his stepmother Camilla of leaking stories to the media to burnish her own reputation.
What is it about this story that has everyone talking?
Bill VanGorder is chief operating officer and chief membership officer at CARP, and says members of the Zoomers advocacy group like the distraction of a soap opera.
“And it’s a really interesting soap opera,” VanGorder told guest host Jane Brown on Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer, “They also reminded me that royalty has had relationship dramas throughout history and this isn’t anything new when it comes to royal families. So it’s interesting probably more from an entertainment point of view than a real concern that this will really affect them or the rest of the world.”
There has been no comment from Buckingham Palace or any members of the royal family.
