Three British-born scientists working in the United States have won the Nobel Prize in Physics.
Duncan Haldane, David Thouless and Michael Kosterlitz were cited for revealing the secrets of exotic matter back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their research opened the door to a previously unknown world where matter takes unusual states or phases.
Haldane is a 65-year old physics professor at Princeton University.. Thouless is 82. Kosterlitz is 76.
