The Conservative MP for Simcoe-Grey is at it again.
First, Kellie Leitch made headlines by proposing screening new immigrants for ”anti-Canadian values”.
No she is eyeing the country’s public broadcaster.

In a statement she says, ”Taxpayers should not have to subsidize the CBC to keep it afloat. Just like in the private sector, if a company isn’t competitive and isn’t profitable, it shouldn’t be in business.”
Leitch points out while private media companies are struggling, the CBC rely on federal subsidies.
Leadership rival Maxime Bernier proposes reworking the public broadcaster’s mandate, cutting its funding and barring it from selling private advertising, but Leitch goes further.
”The CBC doesn’t need to be reformed, it needs to be dismantled.”
Leitch says she would keep parts of it that provide emergency services to remote and rural parts of Canada.
