The death toll continues to rise at the Scarborough long term care home dealing with a severe COVID-19 outbreak.
The Tendercare Living Centre has now seen 71 residents pass away.
Doly Begum, the NDP MPP for the riding that’s home to Tendercare, has tweeted that it’s now the hardest hit care home in the province.
She’s called it a humanitarian crisis and is asking the Ford government why they haven’t called for help from the military or Red Cross.
She also points out that in the first wave, the military was brought in to help at Pickering’s Orchard Villa Retirement Community when they had 70 residents die.
